Busy week at Cochran Fire Department.




(Photos courtesy Cochran Fire Department Facebook page.) It was a busy week at Cochran Fire and Emergency Services. There was training which included how to extinguish a burning car. Recruits trained and also their physical fitness test. Firefighters also assisted with last week’s mobile food pantry.

Middle Georgia State employees to work remotely December 21-23.

Middle Georgia State University announced offices would not be staffed for in-person services December 21-23 in a effort to help slow the spread of COVID in Georgia. According to a Tweet, offices will still be open those three days as staff members will work remotely and be available via email and phone.

Pilot Club keeps Christmas tradition going.




While there were no opportunities to take photos with princesses or Santa, Pilot Club of Cochran kept another local Christmas tradition alive, holding their annual “Winter Wonderland Express” at Heartland EMS as a drive through event. Cars drove through an elaborate set of lights, music and colorful characters. They could listen to Christmas music in the car by tuning their radio to a certain station. Organizers said except for the first night when it rained, turnout had been great. Tonight was the final time, it ran through the first three weekends of this month.

The BCHS girls lost to the Warner Robins Demonettes 61-29 Saturday afternoon. The boys play at Trinity Christian Monday, tip time 6 pm.
