Royals pound Dodge in baseball region opener.

BCHS opened region play at home against longtime rival Dodge County Tuesday night. A six-run bottom of the second blew the game open. Two runs in the fifth and a Gavin Cole triple in the sixth capped the Royals 10-0 victory. Cole finished 2 for 4 with 3 RBI, Austin Yourn went 2 for 2 with an RBI double. Braegan Cravey struck out 11 over five innings. Bleckley hosts Pepperell tomorrow at 5 pm.

Soccer teams split home opener.

Ellen Arnold had a goal and an assist as the Lady Royals won their home soccer opener versus Crisp County 3-2 Tuesday evening. Anna Lynch and Legacy Matthews scored goals with assists coming to Claira Lynch and Nyra Waters. The Royals lost 10-0. BC plays at Macon County February 21. Girls play at 5:30 pm with boys to follow.

Season ends for Lady Royals basketball.

The Lady Royals saw their season end in round one of the state playoffs, losing at A.C.E. 57-47 Tuesday night. Amiyah Roberts had 13 points. Ava Jenkins scored 12 points. Kalyria Jones had 11 points. BC finishes with a record of 14-11.

Barons baseball falls at West Laurens.

Though BCMS narrowly outhit West Laurens 4 to 3, they had double the number of errors four to the Raiders 2 as they lost at West Laurens 3-2 Tuesday afternoon. Baron pitching gave up 0 earned runs. Layne Boutwell went 1 for 2. The two teams meet in Cochran February 20 at 4:30 pm.
