Middle School Sports
Basketball teams lose home finale.

BCMS closed out the home basketball season Monday afternoon versus Swainsboro. The Lady Barons lost 28-12. The Barons, despite trailing by double digits for much of the game, were within eight points going to the fourth. With 2:11 left, the deficit was 28-24. But the Tigers closed 8-0 to win 36-24. Bleckley plays at East Laurens January 29, girls tip at 4 pm.

Middle Georgia Community Food Bank's Mobile Food Pantry will be at Tabernacle of Testimony, 188 Dinah Street, January 30 from 11 am to 2 pm (or while supplies last.) As it is a drive thru event, please stay in your car upon arrival.

(Photos contributed.) BCMS soccer held their awards program January 16. Both teams made the playoffs. Everyone received certificates. Award winners were as follows. Best Offense: Braylee Cobb, Liam Woodard. Best Defense: Bri Harrell, Caleb Kirkpatrick. Most Valuable Player: Jeriyah Evans, Brody Gibbs. Coach’s Award: Edy Coody, KJ McBurse. Congratulations to all the award winners.

A night of music and fun(draising) with Dueling Pianos.



It was a full house at the Jaycee Barn Saturday night as the Cochran Bleckley Chamber of Commerce held “Dueling Pianos.” A fundraiser for the chamber and the Chamber of Commerce Scholarship, guests paid to enjoy a catered meal and also could visit a cash bar and buy drink tickets. The main attraction was two pianists who worked in tandem to perform a variety of songs. Guests could pay to request songs. There were 231 tickets sold.
