High School Sports
Basketball teams win at Northeast.

Ava Jenkins had 19 points and Kalyria Jones added 11 points as the Lady Royals won 51-38 at Northeast Thursday night. Jaylin Gardner scored 14 points and Jamary Elvine had 10 points as the Royals won 53-39. BCHS plays at East Laurens January 11. Varsity tip time is 5 pm.

The Lady Barons rolled past the Dodge County Lady Warriors Thursday afternoon 26-8. The Barons lost to the Warriors 40-26. Bleckley hosts West Laurens January 13. Girls tip time is 4 pm.

Middle Georgia State offices to be closed tomorrow.

Due to the threat of frozen rain and sleet, Middle Georgia State University offices on all campuses will be closed tomorrow. According to a release, faculty and staff will be working remotely and be available to assist students via phone and email Essential personnel such as public safety will be on campus. All in-person classes will be moved to virtual. The recreation and wellness centers on the Cochran and Macon campuses will be closed. Normal operations are expected to resume January 11.
