BCMS Tennis wins at home versus Dublin.


BCMS tennis swept home matches played Thursday afternoon versus Dublin. Scores of both were 5-0. Bleckley travels to West Laurens March 11, start time 4 pm.

Change to city council meeting schedule.

Starting tonight at 6 pm, city council work sessions will be held on the Thursday before the monthly city council meeting on the second Tuesday of the month. Council meetings will start at 6 pm, and will continue to be in the city auditorium. According to a post on the City Council District 2 Post 1 Facebook page announcing the change, the change is being made to make discussions more efficent.

BCHS baseball team holding scrimmage tomorrow.

Royals baseball will hold a scrimmage tomorrow at 4:30 pm. It will feature both JV and varsity players divided into teams. The national anthem will be played and umpires will be used. Admission is free.

BCHS softball held their first ever “Skills Night” Wednesday evening. Players and coaches taught children various skills such as footwork, fielding, and how to throw the ball back in. There will be another next Wednesday at 7 pm. Click the link to register. [ Visit Website ]

Another day, another big inning for Barons.

Yesterday, it was an 18-run first inning. Wednesday afternoon, it was 16-run second as BCMS again blew out Byron Middle School 21-5. Cooper Floyd was 3 for 3 with an RBI. Brody Arnold was 2 for 2 with a double and 3 RBI. Caleb Hill and Liam Alley both went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI. Riley Hogan was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Mason Asbell went 1 for 2 with 1 RBI. Region play resumes Thursday afternoon versus Swainsboro at 4:30 pm in Cochran
