Lady Royals soccer advances in playoff thriller.

The team with coaches Jennifer Mays, Haley Holloway and Courtney White.

BCHS Girls Soccer opened the GHSA playoffs at home Tuesday afternoon versus Dade County. The game was scoreless after 80 minutes and two 10-minute overtime periods. That meant penalty kicks. In the first 5v5 PK session, Anniston Howell and Braylee Cobb scored. Dade also made two kicks, which sent the game into sudden death penalty kicks. In that session, Daylee Scoggins connected for BC only to see Dade score to even the tally. But Julia Arnodl scored and Jana Tomlin stopped the next Lady Wolverine shot to give Bleckley a dramatic 1-0 win. They’ll travel to Bremen April 28. In boys playoff action, the Royals saw their season end with a 2-0 loss at Toombs County Tuesday night.
