Middle school cross country teams do well at Southern Georgia Championships.
BCMS Cross County was at Jeff Davis Thursday afternoon for the Southern Georgia Championships. The girls finished in first place. The boys were second with Jasper Faulk winning the individual championship. The JV boys team and a few JV girls also competed. Barons comeback attempt falls short against Dublin.
DJ Durham Ashton Ross Chance Bryant BCMS Football wrapped up the home season Thursday afternoon versus Dublin. The Irish built an 18-0 lead in the third quarter. BC tried to rally, scoring twice then getting a drive stopping interception by Ashton Ross with 2:26 left. But BC couldn't reach the end zone as they fell 18-14. The season wraps up at East Laurens September 16, kickoff is 5 pm.
Lady Barons thump East Laurens to close regular season.
Aniyah Love was 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles and 3 RBI as BCMS closed out the regular season with a 13-1 home win versus East Laurens Thursday afternoon. Kate Skipper was 3 for 4 with 1 RBI. Makayla Hogan was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI. Blakelyn Bessenbacher was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. BCMS will face West Laurens for the MGMSAA championship in a best of three series. Brayleigh Powell Makayla Hogan Blakkelyn Bessenbacher BCMS scored eight runs in the first inning en route to a 15-0 three-inning triumph versus Pulaski County Middle School Wednesday afternoon. Addison Fish was 2 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI. Brayleigh Powell was 1 for 2 with a triple and 1 RBI. Blakelyn Bessenbacher was 1 for 2 with a double and 1 RBI> Bleckley closes out the regular season at home tomorrow versus East Laurens. Game time is 4:30 pm.
Lady Barons win at Dodge County.
Addison Fish was 2 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI and also struck out eight as BCMS swept the season series from Dodge County 11-5 Tuesday afternoon in Eastman. Aniyah Love was 3 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI. Brayleigh Powell went 2 for 5 with a double and 1 RBI. Makayla Hogan was 2 for 5 with 1 RBI. It will be eighth grade recognition tomorrow when BC hosts Pulaski County Middle School. Ceremonies will be at 4 pm with first pitch at 4:30.
Lady Barons fall to West Laurens.
BCMS softball lost at home to West Laurens 14-2 Thursday afternoon. Bleckley was held to three hits, Brayleigh Powell and Kate Skipper each went 1 for 2. BC's next game is at Dodge County September 8, start time is 4:30 pm.

BCMS football lost 26-16 at West Laurens Wednesday afternoon. They'll close out the home season September 10 against Dublin at 5 pm. Eighth grade recognition will take place beforehand.
Lady Barons easily sweep doubleheader from Dublin.
BCMS had little trouble with Dublin Tuesday afternoon, easily sweeping a doubleheader from the Lady Irish. In game one, Dublin pitching walked 15 in a 16-0 Bleckley win. Game two saw Dublin walk 14 but BC get more hits in winning 18-2. Tristen Dykes went 2 for 2 with a double, triple, and 2 RBI. Brayleigh Powell was 2 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI. Kate Skipper was 2 for 3. Addison Fish was 1 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI. The Lady Barons host West Laurens September 3 at 4:30 pm.

Brayleigh Powell Chloe Morgan Kate Skipper Tristen Dykes BCMS had an equal number of hits and errors (six of each) in a 14-3 home loss to Telfair County Monday afternoon. Kate Skipper was 2 for 3. Brayleigh Powell was 2 for 4. Region play resumes tomorrow with a home doubleheader versus Dublin. Game one starts at 4:30 pm.

Ashton Ross DJ Durham Carter Rycroft BCMS Football lost to Dodge County 38-8 at home in their region opener Wednesday afternoon. The Barons travel to West Laurens September 2, kickoff is 5:30 pm.

BCMS softball picked up a 12-11 region win at East Laurens Wednesday afternoon. Chloe Morgan was 2 for 4 with a pair of triples. Kate Skipper was 2 for 5 with a double and 3 RBI. Addison Fish was 2 for 5 with a triple and 2 RBI. BCMS hosts Telfair County August 31 at 4:30 pm.
A successful Clash of the Classes for cross country teams.
Lillie Kay Darsey finished second for the sixth grade girls. Middle school teams. Brody Gibbs and Lily Farrell. High school teams. (Middle school photos contributed.) BCMS fell to 0-2 on the young football season with an 18-16 home loss to Johnson County Thursday afternoon. Region play begins versus Dodge County August 26 at 5 pm in Cochran.

Ja'Leia Fredick was 3 for 3 with an RBI and also struck out seven in five innings as BCMS picked up their first region win, 9-1 against Dodge County, at home Thursday afternoon. Aniyah Love was 2 for 3 with 1 RBI. Brayleigh Powell was 1 for 2 with 1 RBI. Bleckley has a pair of five-inning scrimmages (A Team and B Team five innings each) at home versus Jones County August 24. Region play resumes at East Laurens August 25, game time is 4:30 pm.

Cross country teams begins season.
Both the BCHS and BCMS Cross County teams traveled to Hazlehurst Saturday morning for the Peach State Preview hosted by Jeff Davis High School. The middle school girls, and both high school teams finished in first place. BC also had three individual champions. BCMS fell at home to Pulaski County Middle School 8-6 Wednesday afternoon. They host Johnson County August 20 at 5 pm.
Lady Barons lose season opener.
BCMS softball dropped their season opener at Telfair County 7-1 Monday afternoon. The Lady Barons had just five hits. Bleckley's home and region opener is August 13 versus Dublin at 4:30 pm.

BCMS hosted a basketball tournament Saturday It provided an opportunity for the upcoming teams to get some work. Besides the Barons and Lady Barons, Dodge County, Telfair County, and Wilkinson County middle schools participated.
Girls weightlifting team finishes region runner up.
(Photo contributed.) BCMS Girls Weightlifting finished second at the region meet held today, losing to West Laurens by six points. First place finishers were Caroline Eckles, Lily Smith, Augusta Finch, Lae'la Harris, and Brinlee Davis. Lily Smith received the overall strongest competitor award. The boys compete at West Laurens tomorrow.
