BCHS and eighth-ranked Vidalia traded zeroes for five innings until an offensive surge by the Lady Indians aided by defensive miscues led to seven runs and a tough loss.

Over the past few weeks, there's been a showdown taking place.  One that's gotten a local coffee shop involved and was also all over social media.  The showdown was between Sheriff Daniel Cape and Citizens Bank of Cochran President Matt Fordham.   The Mule Barn LLC in Cochran was the sponsoring shop of "Coffee for a Cause."  Each man had their particular drink and sought to get the most sales of it with proceeds going to charity. "The Daniel" was a Peach Pineapple Smoothie.  "The Matt" was a strawberry lemonade.  Cape's charity was Georgia Canine Rescue and Rehab with Fordham's being "Hunting for the Cure" an organization that helps kids with cancer enjoy the outdoors.   During the showdown, orders were made from businesses and other organizations supporting each man.  The finale was held September 16 with both Cape and Fordham serving as guest barista's.   In the end, Cape's drink prevailed with 465 purchases to Fordham's 422.  But there were no losers in this showdown.  Hunting for the Cure received $1,200 while GCRR received $1,800.

BCMS Football had a tough end to the season losing 28-0 at East Laurens Wednesday afternoon.

BCHS scored 10 runs over the final two innings of their game Tuesday night in Eastman giving them a 16-6 win and season sweep of the Lady Indians for the second straight season.

Historic Longstreet Methodist Church will celebrate Homecoming September 20.  Worship is at 11 am, Rev. Don Adams guest speaker.  A covered dish lunch will follow.

(Photo contributed.)  BCMS softball had more errors (five) than hits (four) in a 9-1 loss to West Laurens Tuesday afternoon in Dexter.  The Lady Raiders won the MGMSAA Championship series two games to none.  Christa Grace Sims and Chloe Morgan each went 1 for 2.  Bleckley finishes the season 8-7.

BCH S Football Players of the Week as announced by the Touchdown Club Facebook page.  Offense- Zyion Love, Malachi Ates.  Defense- Kix Foskey, Mon Tate.  Special Teams- Chrishaun McCurry.  Scout Team- Caleb Kirkpatrick, Raylan Devane.  BC returns to action October 25 at home for their region opener versus Dublin at 7:30 pm.

    Lyla Sapp Anilah Love Addison Fish Kate Skipper                 BCMS had more errors (seven) than hits (five) in a 12-2 home loss to West Laurens in game one of the MGMSAA  Region Championship Series.  Addison Fish was 2 for 3 with two doubles.  Anilah Love was 1 for 2 with a double.  Kinsley Nowell was 1 for 2.  BC tries to even the series tomorrow at West Laurens, start time is 4:30 pm.
