BCHS had an equal number of hits and errors (four) in a 5-2 loss at Wheeler County Tuesday afternoon.  Starting pitcher Sarah Vaughn gave up two earned runs.  Zoey Adams went 1 for 2.  Region play resumes September 10 at Swainsboro, game time is 6 pm.

Also pictured, mayor and city council members.                 Before the Cochran City Council got down to hearing reports from department heads and other business, they took time for some special recognition.  The winners of the Mayor's Bookmark Contest winners were recognized.  They were Avery Smith (Bleckley Primary), Hendley Watford (Bleckley Elementary), and Rosalie Peche (BCMS.)  Each were given copies of their bookmark to give to friends.  Mayor Carla Coley said she would give bookmarks to each student's teacher at their school so they could be handed out, with the rest to be distributed by the library.  Also recognized was Cochran Police Lieutenant Darrell Miller for his retirement after 22 years of service.

  The BCHS Boys Basketball team was at Captain D's asking people to stop buy and enjoy some fish.  Because it was Spirit Night for the Royals with them receiving 10 percent of all sales.

Addison Fish was 2 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI and also struck out eight as BCMS swept the season series from Dodge County 11-5 Tuesday afternoon in Eastman.  Aniyah Love was 3 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI.  Brayleigh Powell went 2 for 5 with a double and 1 RBI.  Makayla Hogan was 2 for 5 with 1 RBI.  It will be eighth grade recognition tomorrow when BC hosts Pulaski County Middle School.  Ceremonies will be at 4 pm with first pitch at 4:30.
