Ashton Ross DJ Durham Carter Rycroft   BCMS Football lost to Dodge County 38-8 at home in their region opener Wednesday afternoon.  The Barons travel to West Laurens September 2, kickoff is 5:30 pm.

BCMS softball picked up a 12-11 region win at East Laurens Wednesday afternoon.   Chloe Morgan was 2 for 4 with a pair of triples.  Kate Skipper was 2 for 5 with a double and 3 RBI.  Addison Fish was 2 for 5 with a triple and 2 RBI.  BCMS hosts Telfair County August 31 at 4:30 pm.

Jalycia Stanley Natalie Fordham Hailey Davis Zoey Adams   It was supposed to be just a regular region home game versus Dublin Tuesday evening.   But persistent lightning in the area made it anything but.  The game didn't even begin until almost 6:30 pm due to a lightning delay.  Then in the top of the fifth with two outs, another blast from the lightning detector siren again forced teams off the field.  After waiting another hour, the weather finally gave enough of a window to resume.  BC got the final out then scored two runs in the home half to win 13-5.  Jeriyah Evans was 2 for 2 with 4 RBI.  Emily Ferrell went 1 for 2 with 2 RBI.  Bleckley travels to Crawford County August 27, game time is 5:30 pm.

Today's Lady Barons softball game at East Laurens never got started due to lightning in the area.  The game was postponed until tomorrow at East Laurens, start time 4:30 pm.  The scheduled game at Pulaski County Middle School has been cancelled.

BCHS softball lost both games of a doubleheader played at Irwin County Monday evening.  They lost game one 4-1, Rayea Dominy had seven strikeouts.  The team had more errors (eight) than hits (seven) in a 13-4 game two loss.  Ashanti Flagg was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI.  Sarah Vaughn was 1 for 2.  Region play resumes tomorrow at home versus Dublin at 5:30 pm.
