Lyla Sapp Anilah Love Addison Fish Kate Skipper                 BCMS had more errors (seven) than hits (five) in a 12-2 home loss to West Laurens in game one of the MGMSAA  Region Championship Series.  Addison Fish was 2 for 3 with two doubles.  Anilah Love was 1 for 2 with a double.  Kinsley Nowell was 1 for 2.  BC tries to even the series tomorrow at West Laurens, start time is 4:30 pm.

.                         Saturday night was the final Second Saturday Live Music and Food Trucks sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce  The band performing was Last Living Souls.  It was fronted by local resident Daniel NeSmith.  They performed a variety of rock and soul, including some original tracks.  Check the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page for updates on when Second Saturday will return in 2027

BCHS had little trouble at ECI Friday night, leading 28-7 at halftime en route to a 42-7 victory.   Zyion Love ran for 163 yards on 20 carries with three touchdowns.  Kix Foskey ran for 64 yards on five carries.  Brody Fleming was 11 of 20 for 164 yards with three touchdowns.  Defensively, the Royals gave up 87 yards rushing on 28 attempts with one fumble recovery and held ECI passing to 3 of 8 for 15 yards with one interception.   Bleckley returns to action September 25 at home versus Dublin.

                    (Photos contributed.)  A memorial walk for 9/11 was held Friday morning.  Sponsored by Cochran Fire Department, it began with remarks at the station.  The walk began at 10:28 am, the moment when the moment the north tower fell.  The walk included firemen and other first responders as well as community members.  They walked from the fire station to the Eastgate Plaza parking lot.
