BCMS softball kicked off their season Saturday at tournament in Jones County.  Though they defeated Henderson Middle School 8-5, they lost 2-0 to Pike County and fell to Monroe County Middle School 7-5.  BC opens the regular season August 10 at Telfair County.  Game time is 5 pm.

                Dustin Simmons wasn't t  the artist originally scheduled to perform at Second Saturday but was a late fill-in due to a scheduling conflict.  Simmons got a few friends together and practiced a couple of times.  The result was an enjoyable mix of music including classic rock, country, and Christian.  Second Saturday wraps up September 12 with Daniel NeSmith.

BCHS began preparing for the 2026 season with a scrimmage at Hawkinsville Friday night. In a a half and one series for the starters, things looked good overall. Click for more.

  (Photo credit @AAonNBC on X.)   BCHS senior longsnapper Zayden Lassiter will be playing in the 2027 Navy All-American Bowl. The announcement of his commitment to play was made recently via social media.  Lassiter, a nationally recruited longsnapper who's already committed to Georgia Tech, waas in Idaho earlier this month for the Rubio Top 12 Camp for Longsnappers. He was among 40 players competing for 12 spots. He finished third in the competition, earning an invite to play in the All American Bowl. The game takes place January 9 at 1 pm and will be played at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. It can be watched locally on 41 WMGT.
