Coming off the big win against Washington County and with Dodge County lurking two weeks away on Senior Night, Friday’s game at East Laurens had all the makings of a trap game. Though Bleckley wasn’t as sharp offensively as last week, they had little trouble avoiding the trap.

Arkenzio Hayes stiff-arms an East Laurens player.

Nykeem Farrow scored from a yard out with 7:59 left in the first. Bryce Bailey threw a two-point conversion to Torenio Davis. BC’s second drive would stall on fourth and five from the Falcon 35. Early in the second, the defense recovered a fumble on the Falcon 29. Bailey punched it in from the one on fourth down with 9:13 left. Davis caught another two-point pass, this time from Zach Lassiter.

On their next drive, BC converted a fourth and one from their own 47 but stopped on the Falcon 47. East Laurens was held to three and out on the ensuing possession, a personal foul put the Royals on the Falcon 29. An attempted fake field goal on fourth and nine from the nine was unsuccessful. In the third, Davis appeared headed toward the end zone following a completed pass around the BC 47.

Justin Rozier had two receptions for 12 yards.

But he was forced out of bounds, the ball knocked free at the 15. East Laurens didn’t move the ball, Bleckley converted a fourth and two from the Falcon 39 on the ensuing possession. Farrow capped the drive with his second one-yard touchdown run with 3:56 left. BC led 23-0. The ensuing kickoff was fumbled by East Laurens but the Royals were stopped at East Lauren’s 48.

Bryce Bailey had a 28-yard run.

The Falcons went for it on fourth down from their own 28 on the next possession but didn’t convert. Bleckley though was backed up to the 43 due to an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. They converted on fourth down from the EL 36 but were stopped on the 25. Bleckley would capitalize the next time East Laurens went for it on fourth down.

Reid Harley's seven tackles were a season high.

Set up in Falcon territory following another failed fourth down conversion, Farrow scored from five yards out with five minutes left. The point after failed. It capped all scoring in a 29-0 Royals win.

Bailey rushed for 101 yards on 11 carries. Farrow had 91 yards on 28 carries. Reid Harley led the way defensively with seven tackles, five solo. Tytrez Rozier had 4.5 total tackles. Landon Grizzard and Mykel Hobes had four each.

In other news, Lassiter and Davis were selected to the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association North-South All Star Game. It will take place December 28 at Freedom Field in Warner Robins. BCHS is currently in third place with two games left. They’ll take on region-leading Dodge County October 28 in Cochran. Senior night starts at 7 pm, kickoff at 7:30.
