While trying to be consistent, a change in coverage this year.

One of the many things my dad used to say when he and I would discuss why people do certain things was “We’re all creatures of habit.” He would know having worked for years in human resources.

I’m very much a creature of habit and have tried to be that way in running Bleckley Progress. While making additions to the site like the community calendar, I’ve always tried to keep the core principles and format the same. Covering the Cochran and Bleckley County community to the best of my ability for the past 12 years.

My dad, who helped found the site, was Business Manager, and would fill in for me at events. Though I’ve tried to maintain consistency, be a creature of habit with the site since his death in November, there will be a feature missing this year. It is deep regret that I announce I’ll be unable to do a photo section of the March 30 BCHS Prom Walkthrough.

Going through hundreds of pictures and only being able to select 25 for the site (how many one article can hold) is a very physically and emotionally demanding undertaking. Still grieving, I don’t have the energy necessary to take the pictures, go through all of them, select which ones to run, and edit them. Not only that, Saturday will be the day before Easter.

I’ll be out and about that morning covering egg hunts and other community activities. It would simply be too overwhelming to try and do a walkthrough section then cover Easter events the next day, However, reader submitted prom pictures are welcomed. You can email them, BleckleyProgress@aol.com, or send via Twitter, @bleckprogress.

To those of you who enjoy the walkthrough section, I’m sorry I won’t be able to do one. The loss of my dad combined with other events that weekend make it too difficult. Thanks for your understanding, readership, and support.
