Region play resumed Thursday afternoon against East Laurens. Though the bats struggled, good pitching and a head up defensive play kept the Lady Royals perfect in 3-AA.

BC got runners on in the first two innings but didn’t score. Riley Edge’s third inning single broke a scoreless tie, but East Laurens tied the game in the fourth. The bases were left loaded in the home half. Bailey Odom’s double was part of a two-run bottom of the fifth, both runs came with two outs. Leading 3-1 in the seventh, the Lady Falcons got two on with one out.

Though one run scored, a throw from Darcie Dillard to Emily Sanders cut down the runner at second trying to take third, preserving a 3-2 win. Riley Edge struck out eight in five innings and was also 1 for 2. Odom finished 2 for 3 with 1 RBI. Landa Dominy went 2 for 2. Bleckley returns to action August 30 at Dodge County. Game time is 5:30 pm.
