Update on the financial health of the site, coverage this weekend, and more.

With school back in session and fall activities (though I’m still waiting for fall weather like many of you are), it’s been quite busy. Here is where things stand financially with my future/the site’s future. My dad’s estate still isn’t settled and likely won’t be for a while. The attorney is attempting to negotiate down/pay off credit card debt.

Which means I won’t have access to my trust. The businesses who’ve advertised, yes, they do help. Thank you very much to all who have. I believe also their advertising is helping them because I had days of over 9,000 and 10,000 hits on the site. Your continued support is both needed and appreciated as I try to honor my dad by running the site, covering the community.

If you’re a business owner, would love to have you as an advertiser. There is a website PayPal, BleckleyProgress@aol.com There’s a donate button on the main page, plus a GoFundMe. You can also send money via Google Pay to bleckleycheerfan@gmail.com Please understand I dislike having to ask for money, but it’s needed without my dad’s income and the current holdup on my trust. Please also know that the money helps me pay bills and buy food for days I don’t have time to eat at home because of event and game coverage.

Speaking of coverage, that brings me to tomorrow’s football game at Northeast. There are some places that are difficult for me to negotiate alone because of only having one good eye. Most involve long trips, but there is the occasional one that’s relatively local. Thompson Stadium has limited parking. Things will be more difficult tomorrow night because of them celebrating Homecoming.

Plus, I have a very full Saturday of coverage. Because of the traffic and parking, plus my busy Saturday, it’d be difficult to cover the game. Therefore, I’ll be following it from home. Via the radio, Max Preps, Twitter. There will be a score and stats. Any contributed pictures will run. This isn’t an easy decision to make, but it’d be difficult for me to deal with the traffic and logistical issues, plus the likely late end time and be able to handle Saturday’s events.

Another site update. As I type this article, there is an issue causing anyone clicking on the “more headlines” button at the bottom of the page to get a popup asking for a username and password. My webhosting provider has been made aware of the issue and it’ll be looked into as soon as possible. Apologies for the inconvenience. Thanks as always for your readership and support.
