Asking your thoughts on a tough situation.

I'm going to address a very complex situation, and I'm asking for your honest thoughts. Last night, when I posted the info regarding Chris Harris Day, I was playing catch up. I'd been covering soccer, announcing, etc.

I saw a Facebook post last night from a family member expressing displeasure, stating that family wasn't in favor it. I know the family member who's been spearheading this, she is a friend. I promised her I'd come the rec. department Friday to get pictures of the celebration.

But then I saw another post today from a family member also saying the family did not approve. Apparently, they weren't even invited to the proclamation signing last night. Oy vey. This is quite the mess.

As you know, the goal of Bleckley Progress is to support and cover the community. Not cause hurt feelings. I have 0 interest in being involved in drama. Especially a very painful family dispute. One where I know people on both sides of and like people on both sides of.I

If I go Friday, I'm keeping a promise to a friend. But I'm upsetting other people I like. If I don't go, the friend is offended and would understandably feel like I chose the other side. Which I do not want to do.

So I'm asking you, what do you think? What should I do? Email, DM< text, call, your feedback is both needed and appreciated. Because I want Bleckley Progress to remain a positive place for the community.
