BCHS was home Friday night, looking to break a two-game losing streak against always tough Dublin. While the Royals didn’t suffer a third straight loss by seven points or less, the game didn’t go much better for the home side.

Down 7-0 in the first, Bryce Bailey recovered a fumble on the Irish 22. BC though fumbled the ball back on the next play. Dublin would capitalize on a touchdown run with 2:09 left.

In the second, BC had the ball on Dublin’s 26, fourth and two. A holding penalty pushed the ball back, the drive failed. They got to the seven on their next possession, a 24-yard field goal sailed wide right.

Though backed up deep, the Irish scored again on a 33-yard touchdown run with 3:11 left. Though the point after failed, Bleckley trailed 20-0. In the final two minutes, BC drove to the Irish 17, an interception was returned to Dublin’s 33. Another Irish fumble, this one recovered by Mika Floyd, gave the Royals another chance.

Nykeem Farrow scored on a 20-yard touchdown reception with nine seconds left. Carson Waters connected on the point after, and BC was within 20-7 at halftime.

Dublin though got the second half opening kickoff. With less than three minutes gone, another touchdown run pushed the deficit to 27-7. Bleckley’s third turnover, an interception on their own 46, was converted into another touchdown run with 5:59 left.

The point after failed but Dublin led 33-7. Following a punt, Quintavious Slappy recovered a fumble on the Irish 39. BC though couldn’t convert on fourth down from the 24. The Irish scored early in the fourth, missed a two-point conversion. Their final touchdown came with 8:46 left. Patrick Taylor scored late, and the two-point conversion was successful, but the Royals lost 46-15.

BC held to less than 300 yards for a second straight week, amassing 207 total. Farrow had 91 all-purpose yards but was held to less than 100 rushing for a second straight game.

Arkenzio Hayes had a blocked extra point and also led the defense with 11.5 total tackles, 10 solo. Willie Harris had seven tackles, six solo, and a quarterback sack.
