Middle Georgia State University had a fall enrollment of 7,802 students, a 6.36 percent increase from last year. It's the second highest increase in the University System of Georgia.

According to the fall report recently released by USG, only Georgia Tech had a higher increase of enrollment at 11.4 percent. The numbers for Middle Georgia State include a 19 percent increase in new student enrollment and an 81.7 increase in students enrolled in MGA's graduate programs.

This is the second straight semester of increased enrollment for Middle Georgia State. Summer 2018 numbers were up 7.4 percent from last year.

Middle Georgia State President Dr. Christopher Blake believes the increased numbers show the value of an education at the university.

“This growth demonstrates that an increasing number of people have come to appreciate both the quality and the value of an education at Middle Georgia State, and are choosing to invest in their future by studying at our University," said Blake in a release.

He added "We are excited to see that a growing number of students are seeking the benefit of a college education, and that the efforts that have gone into shaping our University and its programs to best fit the needs of not only our region’s students, but also the needs of our region’s business and community leaders, are paying dividends for so many in the Middle Georgia region.”
