Also approved were bids for the HVAC projects at Bleckley Elementary and Bleckley County High School. According to minutes, Pruett Air was the low bidder for both. Both projects were scaled back to minimize local costs. For BCES, the bid was $897,000 but was scaled back to not exceed $688,000 in total costs. $563,616 will come from state accumulated entitlement funds.

The high school bid was $1,582,000.00. It was scaled back to not exceed $1,360,000. The state will pay $1,168,115 from accumulated entitlement funds.

From the executive session, BCHS teacher Brad Knox was promoted to assistant principal for the FY20 school year. He will replace current assistant principal Laura Rowland, who was promoted to Director of Curriculum for K-12 for the FY20 school year.
