Honest, bad news, about my finances.

Before I get started, let me first say thank you. To anyone who's donated. To all current advertisers. You are appreciated, your support has helped me to help you (the community) continue with my job of covering Cochran and Bleckley County to the best of my ability.

Unfortunately, my financial situation remains, for lack of a better word, awful. The estate still isn't settled. I can't get into why, but let's just say it's circumstances beyond my control.

Making things worse is another unexpected expense. Well pump went out Thursday. Got it replaced, but it's going to cost $1,040. This comes on the heels of last month having to pay almost $1,200 to get the air conditioning compressor fixed and the $500 deductible from my minor accident involving a deer.

Because the estate isn't settled, I don't have access to money that could be used to help with these expenses. It will have to come out of the same account used to fund the site. Putting a strain on the site.

So I find myself in the unenviable position of again coming to you. Please understand I don't like doing this. But given how I am alone and things are unsettled, I see little choice but to share what's happening in hopes you might help.

You can do so in many ways. Want to congratulate someone, announce an engagement, wish a happy birthday? Buy a special announcement ad. You can of course also donate via Paypal (BleckleyProgress@aol.com), or via Google Pay (bleckleycheerfan@gmail.com) There's also a donation button at the top of the page.

Please know that any money received helps me with things like paying bills and buying food. It's never spent frivolously. Please also understand that this is only being done because I literally don't know what else to do.

Nothing is going to change in the day to operations of the site. I remain committed to you, to honoring what my dad helped start 13 years ago, and to ensuring Bleckley Progress is where to go when you need to know. Thanks for your continued readership and support.
