BCHS golf team members Ty Cranford and Lucy Wiegert competed in the Georgia State Golf Association Junior Championship held at the Barnsley Garden Resort in Adairsville last week. Cranford had an automatic berth based upon his second place finishing in a qualifying tournament in June. Wiegert was invited to participate based upon her number one ranking n the girls 12-14 intermediate division.

Cranford, playing in the advanced division, had three rounds July 24-26. After shooting an 84 on day one, he rebounded with a 79 on day two, moving from a 17th place tie to eighth place. Cranford shot an 81 in his final round, finishing 10th overall.

Wiegert, in the intermediate division, only had two rounds to play. She shot a 90 on day one, a 95 on day two, and won the GSGA Girls 12-14 Intermediate Championship.
