Sometimes, it’s not taking advantage of every opportunity, but capitalizing on the big ones. The Lady Royals missed some key scoring opportunities in Monday’s game versus Telfair County. But thanks in part to a couple of wild pitches, they took advantage of two late opportunities to win.

Clara Rickerson tags out a Telfair player trying to take third.

BC led 1-0 after three innings on Jordyn Krieg’s infield single but stranded two runners. Two more were left on in the fourth. Rebecca Bowling doubled with one out in the fifth but was doubled off.

Telfair scored two runs in the top of the sixth. In the bottom of the seventh, Trinity Glover singled with one out, then stole second and third. With two outs, she scored the game-tying run on a wild pitch. A run in the eighth put Telfair back on top.

Darci Dillard sets to throw from short.

Darci Dillard singled to lead off the home half. E’Lisia Vickers followed with a triple, tying the game 3-3. The bases were then intentionally loaded. With two outs, another wild pitch allowed Vickers to score the game winning run as the Lady Royals walked it off 4-3.

E'Lisia Vickers beat the tag home to score the game-winning run in the eighth.

Riley Edge struck out nine. Bowling finished 2 for 4 with a double. Krieg was 2 for 4 with 1 RBI. Glover went 2 for 4. Bleckley will celebrate senior night tomorrow against East Laurens. Recognition activities start at 5 pm, game time is 5:30.
