Offense can't make up for early struggles versus East Laurens.

Senior Night recognition was held before Tuesday's game. Part of the tradition is for senior players to release balloons into the air. Pictured are seniors Riley Edge with coaches Teresa Gray, Katie Beard, and Emmie Meadows.

The script appeared set for a good day at the ballfield. It was Senior Night and the Lady Royals were hosting East Laurens. BC had beaten the Lady Falcons 15-3 when the teams met earlier in the season and were undefeated against them in three years of region play.

Trinity Glover beat the ball to second base.

But sometimes things don’t go as planned. Mistakes were a factor in a five-run top of the first. Though E’Lisia Vickers had a two-out RBI triple, she was left at third. Two runners were stranded in the second, another runner was left at third base in the third.

Bleckley was retired in order in the fourth but stranded another runner in the fifth, two more in the sixth. Jordyn Krieg reached on an error in the seventh but wound up being the eighth runner left on base in a 5-1 loss.

Clara Rickerson tosses to Reagan Wimberly at first following a bunt.

Riley Edge struck out 11. No player had two hits. BCHS plays at Dodge County September 24. Game time is 5:30 pm.
