Current assistant athletic director and former Lady Barons head coach Mike Lee threw out the first pitch.

After stranding several runners in an 8-0 loss at West Laurens in August, BCMS looked to avenge the defeat at home Monday afternoon. Despite a very game effort including rallying from five runs down to tie, missed opportunities would again prove costly.

Marley Jarrell tosses to first base.

Tied 3-3 in the bottom of the third, a two on, one out opportunity produced no runs. Down 6-3 in the fifth, BC scored twice, only to give up four runs on two outs in the top of the sixth. They would respond with five in the home half, including back to back doubles by Makenzie Oxley and Lauren Coley with two outs, tying the game 10-10.

A runner at second with one out in the bottom of the seventh was left stranded. After a dramatic tag out by Riley Haley in the top of the eighth, BC had two on with one out in the home half but couldn’t score. Mistakes got the Lady Raiders two runs in the top of the ninth.

Taylor Watford sets to throw after a bunt.

BC again had two on with one out in the home half but couldn’t score in losing 12-10. Haley was 4 for 6 with 1 RBI. Oxley was 3 for 5 with a double and 3 RBI. Kenna Bowman went 3 for 5 with 2 RBI. Lauren Coley went 2 for 5 with 1 RBI. Ke’Myah Anderson, Ter’Nazia Elvine , and Marley Jarrell went 2 for 6.

The Lady Barons face a must-win game September 25 at home against J.R. Trippe to secure a playoff spot. Start time is 4 pm. The September 26 game at Dublin has been cancelled due to Dublin being unable to play, a forfeit win for BCMS.
