The BCHS Loyal Royals were loud and cheered throughout the game.

One way or another, Wednesday would be the final 2019 home game for BCHS. A win, and they’d travel to Heard County for round two. Lose and their five-year appearance streak in the sweet 16 would end. The Lady Royals were challenged early but would answer the bell to keep their season alive.

E'Lisia Vickers steals second base.

After giving up three in the top of the first, BC answered with four in the home half. Though Thomasville would have runners in each of the next three innings, none scored. With the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the fourth, the Lady Royals got their fifth run when the runner beat out a fielder’s choice to second base.

Clara Rickerson throws to first following a bunt.

It proved to be big. A solo home run in the seventh with two outs cut the deficit to one. But Riley Edge struck out the final batter as the Lady Royals won 5-4. Jordyn Krieg went 2 for 4.

Trinity Glover pulls the ball in.

Bleckley travels to Franklin to take on Heard County in round two October 15. Game times are 4 and 6 pm. The *if* game would be October 16 at 5 pm.
