Cheerleaders have their best day yet.

BCHS made their return to the mat following an off week at the Falcon Frenzy hosted by East Laurens High School. The squad looked to build on their last performance in Vidalia.

Despite the rainy weather outside, a large contingent of purple and gold fans were on hand to help get things started as the Royals were the first of five AA squads competing. It was the best day yet for one simple reason.

Everything stuck. The single base stunts, the stunt groups, the pyramid. It all went up and stayed up. While there were still things which could stand improvement from a technical standpoint, BC’s performance was their best yet. They knew it as they left the mat. Fans made sure they knew it with the ovation they provided.

When results were announced by former East Laurens coach Tina Hester (serving as emcee), that cemented what was a great day. Third place, Dodge County. Second place, Vidalia. "And first place in AA, Bleckley County." The reaction by squad and supporters wasn’t just for getting first place, it was recognition for a good day’s work.

Even better, the squad’s score had improved by five points. Head coach Heather Davis said she had so much to be proud of. Everything sticking, the improved score, not only getting a win, but it coming versus good competition. BCHS will have their final tuneup before region November 2 in Swainsboro.
