Being honest about things.

Bleckley Progress has never been about me. It’s focus has always been to cover the happenings in the community. But as I’ve said before, I will share things that I think could affect the site.

And this does. Being completely honest, I’m struggling. Last Sunday was two years since my dad (and business manager) David Whitaker passed. I still miss him terribly. I put on the good face in public. But emotionally, it hurts as if it happened yesterday.

Of course, the financial struggles remain. While efforts are underway to sell farm equipment and pay off estate debt, nothing is truly settled. It’s taking a lot to continue because there’s more money going out than coming in.

I’m also struggling physically. The emotional stress of finances plus missing my dad is physically exhausting. Currently dealing with an issue regarding my toe. It’s one of the reasons why I’m not on the way to Eastman to cover 11-12 football playing for the district championship.

Honestly, I didn’t have the energy to go over there, then wait for high school basketball this afternoon. For that, I’m sorry. You may’ve noticed some light content days recently. That’s yet another place where I’m struggling and it’s going to be worse next week because of the holiday.

I’m doing what I can and will continue to do so. Anything you do (financially, story ideas, sharing a photo when I can’t be somewhere) will be a way you’re helping me help you. Your prayers are also welcomed and appreciated.

As always, your continued readership and support mean a great deal. Thanks for reading.
