Steak, baked potato, salad, along with cheesecake or cupcakes was the menu.

As teams go, this wasn’t the most glamorous Lady Royals softball team on paper. Just two seniors, lots of first year players. But this team had a solid season.

Jordyn Krieg and Rebecca Bowling.

BCHS finished 16-13, 10-2 in region play. They broke a 12-game losing streak to Dodge County and again made it to round two of the state playoffs. Monday night was a time to recognize players for their accomplishments at an awards banquet held at Ruth Baptist Church.

Madison Purvis.

Players received certificates. Also recognized was Hailey Davis, who served as bat girl. Specific awards were as follows. Best Offense: Jordyn Krieg. Best Defense: Rebecca Bowling. Most Improved: Madison Purvis.

Markayla Jenkins and Riley Edge.

The Leadership and MVP awards were voted on by players. They want to Markayla Jenkins and Riley Edge. All Region selections, as chosen by coaches at the end of season were announced next.

L-R: E'lisia Vickers, Clara Rickerson, Addisyn Keel, Riley Edge, Darci Dillard, Jordyn Krieg, Rebecca Bowling.

Assistant coach Emmie Meadows applauds as Katie Beard hugs head coach Teresa Gray after receiving her gift.

Other presentations included senior gifts, a gift of appreciation to assistant coach Katie Beard who will be stepping down, as well as recognition of Diamond Club officers. Club president Kevin Wimberly spoke to end the evening. Congratulations to all the award winners.
