BCHS sought to build on the momentum of Saturday as well as get their first wins versus Washington County in over a year when the Golden Hawks came to Cochran Tuesday night. However, the girls lost a close one and the boys were blown out.

Markayla Jenkins scores.

Tesa Taylor and Jalexia Taylor combined for 16 of the team’s 19 first quarter points. Alyssa Fortune had seven in the second as BC led 33-29 at halftime. Waco’s buzzer beater ending the third gave them a 46-43 lead.

Cochran Insurance and Reality was Tuesday night's game sponsored. Pictured on behalf of the company is Ken Duffy along with boys head coach Garrett Collins.

Trailing by as many as four, Jalexia Taylor tied the score at 60 with 46 seconds left. The Lady Hawks retook the lead with 34 seconds remaining. Following a Bleckley turnover Waco had the chance to ice the game with free throws but missed both.

Ty Williams goes in for a layup.

BC got the ball back with ten seconds left but couldn’t get a good shot off in losing 62-60. Jalexia Taylor had 21 points. Fortune and Tesa Taylor scored 11 points each.

Shonavian Manuel got this reverse shot to go.

Trailing 14-6 after one quarter, the Royals made just three baskets, scoring nine points, as they trailed the Golden Hawks 30-15 at halftime. BC would again score just nine points in the third as the deficit ballooned to 27 points.

Amarion Blackshear hit this three despite the defender's efforts.

The Royals lost 73-30. Ty Williams had nine points. BCHS plays at East Laurens December 13. Varsity tip time is 6 pm.
