Both the Lady Royals and Royals sought to rebound from tough losses Friday night at East Laurens. While the girls game wound up being another close, tough loss, the boys found a way to win after letting another 12-point fourth quarter lead slip away.

Trailing 22-8 in the second quarter, BC was within 28-20 by halftime. Markayla Jenkins scored in the final minute of the third to tie the score at 34, but the Lady Falcons got a layup as time expired to retake the lead.

Jalexia Taylor was fouled on this drive.

Down six in the fourth, Bleckley went ahead 45-43 with under three left on Alyssa Fortune’s second consecutive basket. EL though scored the final six points to win 49-45. Jenkins scored 12 points. Jalexia Taylor had 15 points.

Amarion Blackshear had a three at the end of the third quarter.

The Royals had a one-point lead after one quarter and were up 18-13 at halftime. They appeared to take control in the third, pushing the lead to 12. However, the Falcons weren’t done.

Terrance Rozier hit this jumper.

A 17-5 run tied the score at 42 with under two minutes left. Terrance Rozier hit one of two free throws on Bleckley’s next possession to break the tie. EL missed two free throws with 36 seconds left.

Ty Williams scores.

DJ Sanders hit two free throws with 21 seconds remaining as the Royals won 45-42. Shontavian Manuel had 13 points. BCHS plays at Northside Saturday afternoon. Varsity games start at 2:30 pm.
