Here's a current listing of Black History Month events happening locally.
February 16- Black History Program at Faith Temple Precious Faith Ministries. 2 pm, church is located at 383 GA 87. Meal to follow.
February 18- Lecture "African American Women Activists in Latin" America at Middle Georgia State University. A lecture by Trino Prados, Associate Professor of Spanish, she'll be speaking about crimes against black women in Latin America.
It starts at 3:30 pm and will be held inside Russell Hall Auditorium on the Cochran campus. Sponsored by the School of Arts and Letters, admission is free.
February 29- "Black History Showcase" at Middle Georgia State University. 6:30 pm, Russell Hall. Admission free.
