BCHS Powerlifting Team wins area championship.

This past Saturday at Crisp County High School, the BCHS Powerlifting team competed in the Area 1 GACA Powerlifting Competition. Bleckley County brought home First Place as a team, followed by Schley County in second and Fitzgerald in third. The competition included the bench press and power clean lifts. Each competitor had three opportunities in each lift to achieve their best lift.

The highest lift from bench and power clean combined for a total for the meet. The top six lifters from each weight class scored points for the team. The top two lifters from each weight class by classification advance to the State Championships on March 14 at Jefferson County High School.

Individual results were as follows.

140 lbs and under:
Skyler White- Seventh
Paul Andrews- 11th
Jaden Mobley- 12th

141-150:
Arealius English- Seventh
TJ Mays- Eighth

151-160:
Bryce Bailey- Second
Zyon Pasby- Fifth
Jhamir Marshall- Ninth

161-170:
Caden Maxwell- First(area champion)

171-180:
Marcus Brown- First (area champion)
Nehemiah Mack- Fourth
Shon Jenkins- Fifth

181-190:
Chuckie Stephens- Fifth
Christian Newbern- Sixth
Dominique Sasser- Seventh

191-205:
Scooter Slappy- Second
Willie Chambers- Fourth
Javon Butler- Eighth

206-225:
Conner Brady- Fourth
Demetrius Pope- Fifth
