Jack Fernandez sets to throw from third base.

It was the renewal of a longtime baseball rivalry as BCHS and Dodge met for what will basically be a home and home series with the Indians in Eastman. Though the Royal offense produced just three runs and five hits, they and pitcher Brody Little made it stand up.

Matthew Bland covers a bunt.

Little worked out of a second and third, one out jam in the second. His fourth inning double produced the game’s first run. BC got a leadoff walk in the sixth up 3-0, but the runner was caught stealing.

Steven Knighton tries to get the lead runner at second base.

The Indians got on the board via a throwing error in the home half. Dodge got the first two batters on in the bottom of the seventh. They got a one out sac fly. But Little would get Parker Dixon to fly out with two outs as BC won 3-2.

Ethan Hulsey gets under a ball in right field.

Conner Senters and Matthew Bland each went 1 for 2. Little gave up six hits, one earned run, two walks. The Royals host Mary Persons March 12 at 5:45 pm.
