It was a matchup of former region rivals as BCHS traveled to Vidalia Friday night. The Royals sought to defeat one group of Indians before opening region play against the Dodge County Indians in two weeks.

Bleckley’s defense answered an early challenge, stopping Vidalia on fourth and two from their own 39. Though unable to capitalize on the good field position, they did on their second possession when Dominic Sasser connected with Jaden Mobly on a 21-yard touchdown catch. The Royals went ahead 7-0 with 3:52 left.

The Indians would answer on their next possession on a 47-yard run. Though the point after was missed, Vidalia was within 7-6 with 2:09 left. BC’s next drive reached the Indian 20, but an interception at the 10 ended the threat.
