The Bleckley County Board of Education held a called meeting and work session Thursday afternoon. The board heard from the District Leadership Team. As stated in meeting minutes, they spoke of what was going well, challenges faced, and how they planned to address those challenges.

Approved was the Local Facilities plan. Each district is required to submit one every five years to the Department of Education Facilities Division. To read more, click the link, then scroll to item C.

Items of note from the executive session include the resignation of Ag Teacher/FFA advisor Walt Parks, effective at the end of the school year. Lora Grimsley was promoted from BCMS CARES funded parapro to BCMS Communities in Schools/Family Connection site coordinator and 21st Century CCLC assistant coordinator.

Hired as teachers and football assistant coaches were Noah Davis (offensive line) and Kolby Kinsler (wide receivers.) Updates to the athletic staffing plan include Kevin Kinsler being hired as a community coach for football.

Updates missed from past staffing plan updates: Fran McNair is no longer listed as middle school girls basketball coach or track coach. Jalen Gordy will be girls head basketball coach.
