Lady Barons rally past J.R. Trippe.

Things looked bleak as Monday’s J.R. Trippe-BCMS softball game went to the bottom of the seventh. The Lady Chiefs had a 5-3 lead, the Lady Barons had more errors (four) than hits (three.)

JRT had built a 5-3 lead with two in the fifth. Zoey Adams triple with one out in the seventh was BC’s first hit since the second inning. She would score on an RBI groundout by Augusta Finch. Alasyia Coley singled with two outs and reached second on an error. Jalycia Stanley’s RBI single drove Coley in with the game-tying run.

Stanley stole third and would score the game-wining run as BC walked off J.R. Trippe 6-5. Adams was 3 for 3 with a double, triple, and 1 RBI. Coley was 2 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI. Ashanti Flagg was 1 for 2.

BCMS travels to Vidalia to take on the Lady Chiefs August 23 at 5 pm.
