BCHS opened their home regular season Friday night against Wilcox County. While the defense dominated last week’s game, the offense showed it could be something special against the Patriots.

This opening return by Marcus Newson helped set up the first score.

Marcus Newson returned the opening kickoff to near midfield. He would make the first touchdown catch of the night, a six-yard pass from Kam Everett. With 10:15 left, BC led 7-0.

Josh Stanley, Jr. scores.

Wilcox though would quickly answer just a few minutes later on an 80-yard catch and run. With seven minutes left, WC had drawn even. However, it was short-lived thanks to a Josh Stanley, Jr. 16-yard touchdown run with 4:23 remaining.

A good tackle.

Everett would strike again, this time on a 69-yard catch and run with Cam Beck. The Royals took a 21-7 lead into the second quarter. Both teams would stop each other on fourth down during the quarter. The Patriots stop came after an apparent Markeze Brown int return was called back due to a block in the back.

In the final minute, Everett connected with Tyerk Mack on a 28-yard touchdown. A two-point conversion failed but BC led 27-7 at halftime. Wilcox got within two scores in the third with 6:20 left on a 21-yard touchdown catch. The point after missed.

Bleckley’s final score of the game came with 4:48 in the third when Everett connected with Iverson Baker on a 67-yard touchdown catch. The Royals led 34-13. Wilcox would again get within two scores early in the fourth on a 18-yard scoring pass.

James Green, attorney, was Friday's game sponsor.

The defense sealed the game later in the quarter when Beck recovered a fumble on the Royal 14. Bleckley moved to 2-0 on the young season with a 34-20 win. Everett was 16 of 25 for 261 yards with three scores. He also rushed for 45 yards.

Mack caught for passes for 62 yards. Stanley ran for 51 yards on four carries.

It was Future Dazzlers night. They performed with the Royal Kingsmen during halftime.

Next week the team will be off. The Royals return to action September 8 at home against Schley County.
