It was a matchup for control in Region 2A, Division 1 as BCHS and East Laurens met for the third and final time this regular season. Extra security was on hand as controversy marred the previous game played there almost two weeks ago.

Riley Haley fields a bunt.

In this game, there was no real controversy. Rather, frustration for the Lady Royals who struggled with runners on base. Second and third, one out in the first was part of six left on base in the first three innings.

Addison Hill sets to throw from third base.

EL took the lead on a two-run home run in the bottom of the third. After stranding another runner in the fourth, the Lady Royals finally got on the board in the fifth via a Ter’Nazia Elvine groundout that scored Kemyah Anderson who had tripled.

After stranding another runner in the sixth, the leadoff batter singled to start the seventh. But the next batter popped up a bunt, the runner at first was tagged out trying to steal second, and the final batter grounded out as the Lady Royals lost 2-1. They left eight on base.

Anderson was 2 for 4. Kenna Bowman was 1 for 2. Bleckley travels to Swainsboro September 21. Game time is 5:30 pm.
