BCHS opens new year with sweep of Bears.

It was the first home games of 2024 as BCHS hosted Houston County. Both teams were able to avenge losses to the Lady Bears and Bears last month in Warner Robins.

Ter’Nazia Elvine had 10 first half points, including a buzzer-beating three in the first, as the Lady Royals led 29-17. A 15-5 third quarter blew the game open. BCHS cruised to a 58-26 win. Elvine had 22 points Kalyria Jones had 11 points. Ca’mya Harris added 10 points.

Caleb Farrow had 16 first half points and Omari Jackson hit a layup at the buzzer as the Royals led 30-22 at halftime. BC would push their lead to six in the fourth only to see HoCo battle back.

With less than 30 seconds left, the Bears got within three. Kamarion McClinton’s layup put the lead back to five. Though Houston would get within three again, BC held on to win 63-60. Farrow finished with 32 points. Jackson had 10 points.

Bleckley opens region play January 9 against Jefferson County at 5 pm.
