With Wednesday’s games against Dublin closed to the public, Monday afternoon’s contests versus East Laurens served as the home finale for both teams. Offensive struggles led to a sweep by the Falcons.

Despite making just one basket in the second quarter, the Lady Barons were within 8-5 at halftime. EL stretched the lead to eight in the third. Though unable to make a basket in the fourth, Bleckley would stay close thanks to clutch free throw shooting.

Ja’Nyzia Owens

They would get within two with under 20 seconds left but couldn’t tie the game. Two free throws with three seconds left iced the Lady Falcons 23-19 win.

Jayden Groover

The Barons had a 14-13 halftime lead but only scored four points in the third as the Falcons went up by four. BC scored two points in the fourth, including going 0-6 from the foul line, in losing 28-20.

The Lady Barons were eliminated from playoff contention, the Barons are locked into the fourth seed. BC will close out the season first in a makeup against Dublin that will be played without anyone present Wednesday, then travel to Dodge County Thursday. Both start at 4 pm.
