Region play continued Tuesday afternoon as BCHS traveled to Central. The girls game would be a matchup of top ten teams as the Lady Chargers are top ranked in Class A, Division 1, the Lady Royals ninth.
Kalyria Jones
Central used a 19-2 second quarter to blow open the game and take a 31-11 halftime lead. Bleckley’s deficit got as big as 22 in the second half. They lost 53-37. Ava Jenkins scored 12 points. Kalyria Jones had 10 points.
Amya Robets
Kam Everett’s three pointer in the final seconds of the second quarter drew the Royals within 23-21 at halftime. The third quarter was back and fourth with BC leading by one going to the fourth.
Patrick Roberts
With less than a minute left and Bleckley up two, Central had two good looks at a go ahead three but both missed both. The Royals hit two of four free throws in the final 20 seconds to win 43-39. Everett led with 15 points. Nykez Farrow added 12 points.

Bleckley’s games at Northeast have been moved to January 9 due to the threat of freezing rain Friday morning. Tip time remains 6 pm.
