Royals cruise into round two of playoffs.

BCHS opened the playoffs Friday night at home against Jeff Davis. Per ghsfha.org, it was the first meeting between the Royals and Yellow Jackets since 2005.

State Bank of Cochran was Friday's game sponsor. On hand to receive the game ball from Touchdown Club President Heath Rowland was bank president Jackie Bowen and Vice President Jed Evans.


Bleckley got first half touchdown runs from Zyion Love, Kix Foskey, and Isaiah Simeton to take a 19-7 lead into halftime.

The cross country teams with coaches Shelly Cranford and Carl Ellis Corley.


Simeton would factor in the Royals final touchdown of the game. In the third, he recovered a fumble on the JD 34. It was capped a few plays later by a Brody Fleming seen-yard touchdown run.

BC won the game 26-7. There was also special recognition which took place. The state champion cross country teams were recognized during halftime.

Coach Ray Hardin announced his retirement recently and was recognized for over 40 years of coaching. As BCMS head coach, he led the Barons to both a region title and a region runner up.

Fleming was 13 of 23 for 156 yards and one interception. Love rushed for 172 yards on 16 carries with one score. Octavius Tate caught four passes for 54 yards. Gage Harris caught four passes for 46 yards.

Defensively, BC held the Yellow Jackets to 143 total yards of offense, 37 yards rushing on 58 attempts, and 85 yards passing.
