BCHS went outside region play to host the Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs Monday night. ECI was the top team Region 3A, Division II. The Royals edged the Bulldogs in what was a competitive contest.

Lane Sapp’s hit in the bottom of the fourth tied the game 1-1. BC took the lead with a three-run bottom of the fifth. In the seventh, ECI got two on with one out.

But Thomas Evans induced a line out to Lane Sapp to secure Bleckley’s 4-1 win. Gavin Cole was 2 for 3 with a double an 1 RBI. Walker Boatright was 1 for 2 with 1 RBI. Brody Fleming went 1 for 2.

Bleckley travels to Dublin to take on the Irish tomorrow. Game time is 5:30 pm.
