BCMS announces winners of grade level spelling bee. ***Winners pictures updated***

Sixth grade participants.


Bleckley County Middle School held their grade level spelling bee December 9. The top two spellers from each Social Studies classroom in grades 6, 7, and 8 were selected to participate.

Participants and winners were as follows. Sixth grade participants: Eli Anderson, Kaelan Anderson, Anylah Beck, Brooklyn Carey, DJ Durham, JR Grimsley, Alayah Jenkins, Arionna Johnson, Lucas Libby, Ellie Kate Martin, Deriya Mathis, Natalie Miller, Rudra Patel, Ruby Sanders, Zayne Sirmons, Zayden Ware. Winners were: Third place, Brooklyn Carey. Second place, Nathan Miller. First place, Ruby Sanders.

Seventh grade participants: Cash Daniel, Easton Gay, Ayden Graham, Lae’la Harris, Raina Harrison, Sophie Hasty, Zy’Meire Height, Anna Joyner, Jaelyn Lancaster, Cole Lewis, Colton NeSmith, Lila Odom, Kinsley Smith, Michael Smith, Patrick Tyler, Nolan Wade. Seventh grade winners were: Third place, Cole Lewis. Second place, Zy’Meire Height. First place, Ayden Graham.

Eight grade participants: Eli Allen, Shamya Anderson, Brent Arnold, Allysa Brown, Mary Grace Calhoun, Ava Cackett, CJ Darsey, Mason Herndon, Allie Itson, Hannah McPherson, A’Riyah Pickett, Keilen Simeton, Conner Smith, Horace Taylor, Bradley Tye, Liam Woodard. Winners were: Third place, Ava Cackett. Second place, Brent Arnold First place, Keilen Simeton.

Eighth grade participants.


The first and second place winners from each grade level will compete in the Bleckley County School System Spelling Bee January 22 at 9 am. The winner of the school system spelling bee advances to the GAE District 7 Spelling Bee February 28 at 10 am.
