Lady Barons third, Barons fourth, in Vidalia

While the team scores may not have been what was desired, Wednesday's track meet hosted by JR Trippe Middle School and held at Vidalia High School did allow the Lady Barons and Barons track teams a chance to get ready for region. And there were some good individual efforts.



Team scores for girls were: Dodge County 79, JR Trippe 68, Bleckley County 41 and West Laurens 30. Individually, Kelsey Taylor swept the discuss and shot put competitions, winning both. Her throws were 88' for discuss and 29'1"
for shot. Allison Diller was fifth in discuss with a throw of 59'.



In races and relays: Masey McLain won the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:02. She was followed by Sarah Law with a time of 6:13. Amber Lucas was fourth with a time of 6:16, followed by Caley Cranford with a time of 6:27. In the 3200 meter run, Sheree Law was second with a time of 13:32.



The 800 meter run saw several Lady Barons do well. Brittney Mullis was second with a time of 2:49. She was followed by McLain with a time of 2:50. McLain just edged out Bailey Berryhill who placed fourth with a time of 2:50. Sarah Law was fifth with a time of 2:53. The relay team of Cranford, Mullis, McLain, and Skyla Lindsey finished third in the 4 x 400 meter relay with a time of 4:48.45. They were followed by the team of Bailey Berryhill, Shakira Basby, Callie Manley, and Kayla Dykes who finished with a time of 4:58.



Boys scores were JR Trippe 86, West Laurens 50, Dodge County 49, and Bleckley 23. No boys stats have been made available. The Barons track teams finish their season on March 29 at the MGMSAA Championship. It will be held at West Laurens High School and begin at 3 p.m.
