Girls track wins region, boys finish second.

The BCHS track teams had an early day in Barnesville Thursday for the 4-AA track finals as Lamar County's soccer teams needed the stadium that afternoon. Going in, the girls were in first place, the boys second.

At the end, neither place changed. Bleckley won their first girls region track title since 2009, the boys finished region runner up for a second straight year. Monticello was girls runner up, host Lamar County won the boys title.

Tia Troup.


Victoria Paulk- second in pole vault.
Savannah Pryor- first in discus, fifth in shot put.
T'Keyah Pasby- second in discus, sixth in shot put.
Tia Troup- sixth in high jump, fifth in 100 meter dash, fourth in 200 meter dash.

Felisia Young and Dewanda Blackshear.


Ellen Powell- first in 800 and 1600 meter run, eighth in triple jump.
Madison Powell- second in 800 and 1600 meter run.
Dewanda Blackshear- fifth in long jump, fifth in 100 meter dash.
Felicia Young- third in triple jump, second in 100 meter dash, fifth in 300 meter hurdles.

Alondria Clemons.


Alondria Clemons- third in 100 meter hurdles, sixth in 300 meter hurdles.
Samantha Miller- first in 3200 meter run
Shannon Purvis- second in 3200 meter run.
Team "A"- third in 4x100 relay, fourth in 4x400 relay
Team "B"- fifth in 4x400 relay.

Tavon Ross- fourth in long jump, third in shot put.
Jeremy Marshall- sixth in long jump, eighth in triple jump, seventh in 100 meter dash.
Shamar Slappy- sixth in shot put, first in discus.
Cord Yearty- third in discus.

Eli Belflower and Clay Blanton.


Earl Marshall, eighth in long jump, fifth in 110 meter hurdles.
Antavis Robertson- seventh in triple jump, second in 200 meter dash.
Mario McClendon- first in 100 and 200 meter dash.
Eli Belflower- first in 800 and 1600 meter run.

Clay Blanton- third in 800 meter run.
Austin Cook- second in 1600 meter run.
