The Bleckley Church Softball League tournament resumed early Saturday morning. By 11 am, there'd been an upset. First Baptist Church team one, winner of the past three tournaments, had been eliminated. They lost to Lakeview Baptist Church and Cornerstone Church of Cochran team two.

Dusty Jones made many catches when he was in the outfield for BCHS.

Bethany Baptist Church would advance from the bracket, defeating Cornerstone in the finale. At House of Grace, St. Paul Baptist Church advanced. They defeated First Baptist Church team three, who lost to St. Paul that morning but fought their way through the loser's bracket.

A similar scene played out at Limestone Baptist Church. First Baptist Church 2 fought their way through the loser's bracket. Their opponent was undefeated Mt. Calvary. Mt. Calvary won to complete the championship series.

Aubrey Jackson would slide under the tag from Bethany's Jody Kirkpatrick to score the game-winning run.

Game one of that series was between Bethany and St. Paul. It went to International Tiebreaker with St. Paul's winning 5-4. The next game also came down to a final at bat with Mt. Calvary edging St. Paul's 6-5. St. Paul's battles continued, this time in an elimination game against Bethany.

Blake Lucas was home for the summer playing for Mt. Calvary.

In another tiebreaker. St. Paul. prevailed 10-7. They would have to defeat Mt. Calvary twice for first place. They did in a pair of close calls, 4-3 and 2-1. Trinity Episcopal Church, who did not participate, won the Sportsmanship Award that was voted on by all churches.
