Aliyah Whitehead tracks down a ball in centerfield.

It was a long evening of ball for the Lady Royals as they had a pair of home scrimmage games. They took on both Telfair County and Hawkinsville, giving a chance for different players to see time on the field.

Riley Edge scores versus Hawkinsville.

Bleckley took on Telfair County first. The Lady Trojans are coached by BCHS alumni Chris Ellis. It was 3-1 after four innings but Telfair got two in the fifth. A two on, two out, opportunity in the bottom of the seventh produced no runs as the game ended in a 3-3 tie. Riley Edge went 2 for 3.

Faith Harris goes in head first at second base.

After Telfair and Hawkinsville played, BC took on the Lady Devils. Up 4-1 after three innings, a two-run fourth made it 6-1. A four-run sixth by Hawkinsville cut the deficit to one. Riley Edge's RBI single made it 7-5.

Emily Sanders sets to throw to first after getting the ball at third for the force.

The Lady Devils loaded the bases with one out in the seventh having already scored one. The ball got loose at home plate. Taylor Dykes hustled home to tag out the tying run. Because first base was occupied, the batter was out as BC hung on 7-6. Dykes was 2 for 3 with a double and 1 RBI.

This play by Taylor Dykes stopped the game-tying run from scoring.

Faith Harris and Abbey Sims each went 3 for 3. Aliyah Whitehead was 3 for 4 with 1 RBI. Edge went 1 for 2 with 1 RBI. Jordan Williams was 1 for 2. BC will play a scrimmage doubleheader at Hawkinsville Thursday begining at 4 pm.
