It was a busy summer for the officers of Bleckley FFA. One toured Washington, D.C., then he and the other officers attended a retreat to plan for 2016-17.

Done by electric cooperatives in Georgia, participants join over 1,400 other students from across the nation on an all expenses paid trip to our nation's capital.

The tour includes meetings with state and national leaders, leadership training, as well as visits to all the major sights in DC. Felkins went June 9-16.

The retreat was organized by advisors Doyle Floyd and Walt Parks.

The team also set goals for the year, developed the chapter calendar and program of activities, designed the chapter T-Shirts, as well as planned what community service projects the chapter would undertake.
