The 2017 Middle Georgia State Arts Festival will be March 27-April 3. It's sponsored by MGA's Media, Culture, and the Arts Department.

Two events are scheduled for the Cochran campus, both are free and open to the public. Both will feature artist Dan Keplinger. According to a release from the university, Keplinger is an artist who must paint with a brush attached to his head due to his cerebral palsy. He was featured in the 1999 Documentary "King Gimp."

The film, which follows his life, life won the 2000 Academy Award for Best Short Subject Documentary and 2000 Peabody Award. A showing of King Gimp will be held March 27 at 5:30 pm inside Dillard Hall Auditorium.

Keplinger will give a gallery talk to discuss his work April 3 at Peacock Gallery located inside Russell Hall at 6:30 pm. His work will be on display through April 7. Gallery hours are 8 am-5:30 pm, Monday-Thursday, 8 am-noon Friday.
