Summer soccer at CBRD.

Summer soccer began Monday evening at the Cocran-Bleckley Rec. Department. Games will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but this will be the only night of games this week due to visitation and the first day of school.

New church softball champion crowned.

The umpire signals "safe" for Fellisia Young of St. Paul. Rob Grimsely had tried to apply the tag at third.
For the first time in three years, no team from First Baptist Church was a part of the Bleckley Church League softball tournament championship series. The team that won it all made a comeback to do so.

Bleckley Powerhouse makes debut.

The newly-formed Bleckley Powerhouse travel baseball team made their season debut in a tournament Friday played at Luther Williams Field in Macon. They defeated the Assassins 5-0 and lost in the final inning to Fall Line Fury 6-5. The team plays tomorrow in Macon at 2 pm.

The battle for first in church softball begins.

The annual Bleckley County Church League Softball tournament began Friday night at Limestone Baptist Church. Mt. Calvary Baptist Church got a pair of wins against Limestone and First Baptist Church team two and New Life Church of God survived a late rally to defeat First Church of the Nazene.


Games start Saturday morning at 8 am. They'll be played at Limestone, Ruth Baptist Church, and House of Grace. The winners will play that afternoon for first place at Limestone.
