Fireworks show to be part of spring ball Opening Night.

Opening night for spring baseball, softball, and T-Ball will be February 22 starting at 5:45 pm. A fireworks show will follow conclusion of the games at approximately 8:30 pm.

Members of the 1994 state champion cheer squad with coach Leanna Noah. They were the first GHSA Cheerleading champions.
Some of the many people who have done great things in sports locally were recognized at the first ever induction ceremonies for the 2023 Cochran-Bleckley Sports Hall of Fame.

Mims to declare for NFL draft.

UGA offensive tackle Amarius Mims announced today he would forgo his remaining eligibility and declare for the 2024 NFL Draft. Mims, also a former Bleckley County Royal, played at UGA for three seasons. He only played in seven games this season due to injury. Mims is viewed as one of the top offensive tackles on the board and a potential first round pick.

Pickleball fun on a Saturday afternoon.



Members of the Bleckley Pickleball Association made use of the mild temperatures to play Saturday afternoon. Players put their names into a bucket matching a particular skill level. Names were collected and matches were made based upon who placed their name in what bucket, allowing them to decide what skill level they wanted to play at.
