VBS went on even when the power was gone.



Limestone Baptist Church opened their Vacation Bible School Tuesday night. Their theme is “Live it Out.” Things were going well until a severe thunderstorm hit the area. The power flickered several times and then went out. However, no one panicked. Adult volunteers made sure to keep the 67 kids in attendance calm. Though they couldn’t practice VBS songs, children in the sanctuary still sang. The arts and crafts teacher showed the children what they would’ve made had the power stayed on. Classes continued by flashlight. VBS will last through Friday at Limestone. Dinner is served at 5:30 pm with classes and activities to follow.

Busy day for Cochran Woman's Club.

That morning, they supplied refreshments to those who attended the Memorial Day program. They then met with Priscilla McIntyre, volunteer coordinator for “Camp Good Grief” in Eastman, GA. Camp Good Grief is for children ages 6 through 14 who are dealing with trauma not limited to but including death of a loved one, a family member with a terminal illness, adoption, or child abuse.
